This book has a very practical approach to RPD construction. The many illustrations make the subject extremely comprehensible. It makes a good reference in dentist's professional library and very helpful to new graduates.

Great illustrations with clear labels, point-form summaries. Amazing review for exams/ boards. Very comprehensive and very readable. Some designs look a little esoteric but still very useful. Wish I had it when I was in dental school.

A wonderful tale of surviving against the odds and finding love.

The story of 3 brothers of the heart, Beckett, Cole and Blake is one of those tales that just sticks with you. I cried for these 3 many times but there's room for laughter as well. Blakes story is the original starting point - who can forget how he counts Livia's smiles. Truly heart warming and heart breaking in equal measure, The Poughkeepsie series is one you'll keep returning to again and again.

Everyone out there should be warned that they need to read these books.

I’m not usually a huge 3rd person fan but through Debra’s writing we get to follow 3 young men, each troubled in their own way and how they create lives for themselves after continually getting knocked down.

Went I picked my kindle up I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect. I can guarantee you it shocked the life out of me when I became so heavily entrenched in the Poughkeepsie way of life.

All of these character have their own demons but Debra’s writing endears you to them flaws and all. In Beckett’s case especially you love him because of his flaws.

How do a review this without giving anything away??

3 young men, failed by the system designed to protect them. One of them turns to God and one of them turns to nature to find their solace. The third sacrifices everything he has to give, bar his life, to protect his brothers.

These books take you through their lives from how they came be the only family each other could count on, to expanding their family in spite of abuse, mental illness and dubious life choices.

This book will have laughing, crying, cursing God but most importantly feeling satisfied.

I cannot stress enough how much you need to have this book in your life.

I absolutely LOVE this series, it wrenched my heart our from the start until the end. If you want an emotional rollercoaster with characters you don't think you should love, but will anyway. This is the book for you!

About the Author

Gail Pan lives on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia, at the foot of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges (a series of low, verdant mountain ranges). Growing up in a home where sewing was always an important part of life, it was only natural that she tried every craft there was! She has always had some kind of project in the works, trying everything from knitting to cross-stitch.

In 2003, at the encouragement of friends who were opening a patchwork business, Gail began to design and release her own patterns. She's been designing ever since! Gail teaches all over the world and gets great satisfaction and enjoyment from sharing her love of needle and thread.

Definately Disney

As a true Disney fan I can highly recommend this book, but only to a certain set of people. Leonard Maltin's book The Disney Films is truely nothing more than a list of all of the films ever made by the Disney Company. Each one has a summary and credits. There is also a preface discussing Walt's life. Although it will a be valuable resource to my already exsisting Disney library I would not recommed it to any first timers. There are no color pictures which was a huge disapointment to me. However, it does deal with many little know films and gives great insight to each one, no matter how minor. I prefer reading about the animated films more than live-action. This book gave equal time to both types, which could be a plus to some. There is no doubt that for the price is a great deal, but I would advise to get John Grant's Encyclopedia of Walt Disney's Animated Characters (which is so much more than the title implies) and Steven Watts' The Magic Kingdom: Walt Disney and the American Way of Life before this one. These are both incredible books that would serve anyone well. Especially the hardcore Disney fanatic.

I like the book very much because all the Disney films are mentioned. I am still busy reading it and I find everytime new things. Also you can read how the film was received during release and re-releases. The first part of the book is very detailed of every movie until Disney's death. Every movie is a chapter. Than the writer starts to make a chapter per period. Also the Disneyclub TV series, Disney shorts and Disney TV-cartoons are in there. I think that Leonard Maltin should write seperate books about the Disney shorts and the Disney TV-cartoons.

In this book about the film and tv work of one of animation history's most famous showmen.Leonard Maltin takes us thru the creation,development and the successes of Mr.Walt Disney and his most famous films and tv series.Using in depth research,interviews with many of Mr.Disney's staffers,cast,crew members,members of his family,friends and fellow film/tv historians.Mr.Maltin takes us thru the creation of "Mickey Mouse","Donald Duck","Snow White","Pinocchio","Peter Pan"and the rest of Mr.Disney's cast of cartoon characters and he shows us the development of his live action films.He also gives us a behind the scenes look at the creation of his tv series:"Disneyland!"/"Walt Disney Presents!"for ABC TV(Which he also served as producer and host/narrator) and why Mr.Disney left ABC TV to create,produce and host one of NBC TV's most popular family anthology shows:"The Wonderful World Of Color".

The book is also filled with beautiful photos and illustrations and a complete listing of the production co.'s films and tv series.

I did not think this book had all of what it does have. I thought it was just templates, but , it also has directions on what pose is standard for a certain clothing item. It also has directions on how to color the fabric and embellishments. It has so much more. I highly recommend this book to designers and also to models.

I liked this book very much. It provided many poses and ideas for rendering with different mediums. I was surprised to see current fashion trends represented and a fresh style throughout. All the contributing artists have a clean, uncomplicated but totally professional sketching style, which is not as intimidating for beginners but still very effective in showcasing the garment's design. I haven't worked with the image CD included, but anticipate it will be of great value!

Copyright-Free Fashion Poses

This is a great resource for anyone who wants to draw fashion sketches. It's a selection of models drawn in a wide variety of poses, which you can use as the base for your own fashion sketches. These sketches are copyright-free, which means you're allowed to trace them, photocopy them, scan them, or use them however you'd like in the creation of your fashion sketches. Or you can simply use them as references for drawing your own models.

The book includes a CD, which has all of the sketches included as image files. There are a couple of different file types, including JPG. You can save the files to your computer and open them in Photoshop, for creating digital fashion sketches, or you can print them and trace over them---whatever you like.

I'm impressed with the variety of poses that are included. Most are women, but there's a small selection of men, as well as teens and plus-sized models. Most are standing---typical dynamic poses---but a few are sitting. There are poses specifically designed to be appropriate for sportswear, evening wear, casual wear, juniors' wear, and so forth. You're sure to find multiple poses that appeal to you, and if you can't find one that's exactly what you need, you can always mix-and-match! The models are mostly the same size and proportions, so it's easy to copy/paste elements from one model onto the body of another, creating your own unique poses. (I use Photoshop Elements for this.)

While I'm at it, I generally adjust the proportions, because these are typical high-fashion models, which means they are NOT sized like human beings. They're quite skinny, for one thing, plus their legs are insanely long, their torsos are stretched out, their arms sometimes reach to their knees, and their hands and feet are enormous! It's the one flaw with this book. It isn't difficult to fix, though, provided you understand the concept of "heads." I draw a guideline beside the drawing that shows more normal proportions (usually eight heads tall), and then I shrink various parts of the body until it matches the guideline. Sure, it takes a little work, but the end result is always worth it. By the time I'm done with the sketch, it no longer resembles the original in any way.

Another bonus is that the book includes instructions for drawing different types of clothing and fabric, as well as accessories (shoes, etc.). I wouldn't recommend it for artists who are just starting out, because the proportions aren't accurate. In other words, don't use this as a guide to learning figure drawing, because your models will come out looking all wrong! But if you have a little experience and are comfortable re-sizing the sketches to suit your personal artistic vision, then it's a great resource. I'll give it four stars and recommend it to anyone who needs copyright-free models for their fashion sketches.

Also recommended: "Human Anatomy Made Amazingly Easy," and the two "Figure It Out" books by Christoper Hart. If you're struggling to learn how to draw your own models, his books will help!

Stop That Ball

I had this book for my three boys when they were little and recently purchased this for my grandchildren. My sons loved it when they were learning to read, remembered it and wanted it for their children. I only had the one book from their childhood so went on line to purchase two more. Since mailing them off to my grandchildren, they too enjoy it as much as their dad's did and it is a book requested over and over. It is a step for early readers between very simple reading to a little longer subject matter and holds their interest through the ongoing activity in the book. Great little book!

Gripping Tale of Tragedy, Litigation & Greed

AttorneyGerald Stern describes his efforts to sue the Pittston Company following the deadly collapse of their company-built dam in West Virginia in February of 1972. In this often-overlooked disaster, a coal company slag heap/dam made up of coal mine refuse, collapsed after heavy rains and sent a tidal wave of blackened-water into a town of coal miners. The swirling torrent killed 125 persons (injuring over 1,100) while survivors scrambled up the hillsides for safety. As expected, the Pittston Company blamed the tragedy on an act of God, but Stern and his associates uncovered evidence to prove differently. This absorbing tale is actually two books - a smaller one about the disaster and the suffering survivors, and a larger one of the complicated chess game of suing a big corporation. That chess game involved depositions, discovery, and complex legal strategy. This easy-reading tale makes excellent learning for law students and anybody with an interest in justice. Without revealing the ending, I will note that some feel corporate criminal negligence should result in prison sentences.

This readable tale may seem one-sided coming from the lead attorney for the survivor/plaintiffs - mostly members of poor mining families. For me, it was nice to see a major law firm (Arnold & Porter) serving the underdogs, whose tragic losses were not repairable by any settlement, regardless of size. It was also revealing to see how the lengths a corporation would go to place profits over safety and ethics.

Not bad for extra practice, but does not contain Real SAT questions or trustworthy score conversions.

I'm a Harvard graduate, SAT perfect scorer and professional SAT tutor with 18 years of experience. Disclaimer: way back when, I used to teach and tutor the SAT for the Princeton Review.

This book is OK for extra practice if you've run out of official practice SATs--the answer explanations are more detailed than others I have seen, and the questions are mostly realistic. However, it's important to realize that the tests in this book are not real SATs. The only book with real, updated SATs is the Official SAT Study Guide, of which I have written an exhaustive customer review (currently the first one on the top): Official SAT Study Guide (2016 Edition) (Official Study Guide for the New Sat) Thus, the "score conversions" provided are simply Princeton's best guess, and cannot be trusted because the SATs contained within are not authentic.

Here are my top recommendations for synthetic SAT practice tests:

1) Ivy Global: Ivy Global's New SAT Guide, 2nd Edition
2) Barron's: Barron's 6 Practice Tests for the NEW SAT, 2nd Edition
3) This Book
4) Kaplan: 8 Practice Tests for the SAT 2017: 1,200+ SAT Practice Questions (Kaplan Test Prep)

The author Prof. Turro is of little doubt the authority in today's photochemistry world. He was a familiar name in my PhD group since we covered the ground of photochemistry. His chemistry tree went back to Dr. Hammond, the giant of modern photochemistry and physical organic chemistry.

Dr. Turro is a great teacher. In 2001 (or 2002?) I was able to listen to one of his speeches in Florida. He has the great talent to deliver ideas to you, as often happens in great theoretical physicists. He delivers well in the book. It is very readable and informative.

He has great, great videos lecturing photochemistry. Use them together with this book. It will get you to quite a level in photochemistry.

This is the first book to read on organic photophysics. Turro is a wonderful teacher; the introductory chapters of this book clearly explain basic concepts that other books skip entirely. I would particularly recommend this book to anyone who is new to the field and/or timid about physical chemistry, although it is certainly appropriate for more advanced students/professionals as well. The advanced reader can skip the first few chapters and still find plenty of useful reference material on energy transfer, photochemical reactions, spectroscopy, etc. There are other photochemistry textbooks available but the price makes this one the best value.

The perfect guidebook to photochemical reactions

The author delivers an ultimate treatise in photochemistry with profound quantum chemical knowledge. Therefore, it may be a little difficult to understand if the readers don't have quantum chemical background.
However, the content is so well-arranged and adequately presented if you are ready for it, which means you need to have intermediate level of understanding in quantum chemistry and organic chemistry.
